Xi’an Polymer Light Technology Corp. (PLT) was founded in 2007 by Dr. Zhao Wei, a member of the (Recruitment Program of Global Experts of China), with a 50,000,000 RMB (US$ 8,000,000) capitalization. The Shaanxi FPD Research & Engineering Center (the Center) was established within PLT by unrelenting support from the Shaanxi Provincial Development & Reform Committee, the Provincial Offices of Industry & Information and Science & Technology. Their objective is to make it feasible to produce organic light-emitting diodes industrially.

Organic light-emitting diode is the emerging technology for display, lighting and photovoltaic production. That technology is categorized by the materials used, namely, OLED, a small organic molecules and p-OLED which employs organic polymers. Unlike OLED, p-OLED is solution-processed, rendering it supremely advantageous in manufacturing cost. PLT and the Center focus on the industrialization of p-OLED technology.

Since PLT and the Center were founded, we have designed and built world-class p-OLED pilot line relying on proprietary technologies developed herein. This broadens our line of polymer opto-electronic materials, creates a number of prototypes for unique lighting and display. Our successful implementation accelerates the industrialization process of p-OLED technology, bringing us new capability to supply p-OLED core materials, design and build production lines and supply production engineering know-how.
