Travik was established in 1974, bringing together a wealth of knowledge from America and Europe. The initial concept was to manufacture a complete range of chemicals for hospitals and local authorities in the north-east region.
However Travik’s reputation for innovation quickly spread, and the company began supplying Nissan and Vauxhall with showroom preparation chemicals for vehicles entering the UK via north-east ports. Ports in other parts of the country, like Poole, Immingham and Bristol soon followed.
Travik still manufactures for General Motors, and is the only approved supplier for Volvo/Scania trucks. Travik also provides all the de-waxing chemicals used by Nissan.
