Core Product Range & Applications
Our core business is the manufacture of Flutec? Fluids (perfluorocarbons) to a high specification. These perfluorinated fluids are inert liquids and gases containing only fluorine and carbon atoms making them non-toxic and non-flammable. Their unique chemistry gives them a remarkable combination of properties making them suitable for applications in many industries such as ;
Cosmetics and Personal Care
Useful ingredient in many cosmetic and personal care products offering:
Oxygen Carrier Ability Anti-transfer Properties
Hydrophobic Effect
Medical - cGMP Facilities
Perfluorodecalin, perfluoroctane and octafluoropropane in particular are finding application in:
Blood Substitutes Liquid Ventilation
Wound Healing Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia
Organ Storage Cryoablation
Magnetic Resonance Imaging Islet Transplantation – Two Layer Method
Non Aqueous Drug Delivery Prevention of Post Surgical Adhesions.
Eye Surgery / Opthamology
cGMP facilities available.
Refrigeration
Octafluoropropane is a useful CFC Replacement
Tracing & Tagging (Atmospheric Oil & Gas)
A safe alternative to radionuclides, in the atmosphere, as well as oil and gas. Used for:
Leak Detection Reservoir Mapping
Atmospheric Tracing
Electronics & Electrical
Excellent electrical properties and stability make the Flutec? Fluids ideal for:
Vapour Phase Soldering Gross Leak Detection
Liquid Burn-in Thermal Shock Testing
Heat Transfer Dielectric Insulation
Deposition Solvent CVD Chamber Cleaning
Direct Contact Cooling Lubricant Deposition
Other Developing Applications
Cell Culture Medium Fluorous Biphase Catalysis
Reaction Suppression
Selective Direct Fluorination (SDF)
SDF is a bespoke research service which offers a unique and viable route to fluoro-organic compounds, including fluoroaromatic compounds, beta-dicarbonyl compounds and aromatic sulphur pentafluoride coumpounds. F2 Chemicals Ltd. offers this service on a toll or custom basis in gram to tonne quantities through our parent companies, Asahi Glass Company Ltd and Miteni .
History
