Shandong Sanjin Glass Machinery Co Ltd holds the chair of Vice-President in the China Glass Association and the China Light Industry Machinery Association.The company was founded in 1959 as Shandong Light Industry Machinery Factory. In 2004, it was restructured into a private enterprise company. Shandong Sanjin is the "Shandong High Tech Enterprise", "Provincial Contract Abiding and Trustworthy Enterprise", "Provincial Technology Center", "Shandong Glass Machinery Engineering Technology Center" and "Postdoctoral workstation". Selected by China Glass Association,Sanjin was awarded as the "China Enterprise and Entrepreneur" and "2nd batch of Shandong Credit Enterprise". "Sanjin" brand was selected as "Shandong Famous Brand".In 2011, Shandong Sanjin was converted into a Joint Venture company with Emhart Glass SA, a division of Bucher Industries AG, Switzerland. Emhart Glass SA is a world leader in Glass bottle making machinery and the Joint Venture brings together a world class leader and Sanjin, a leader in China Glass machinery.Shandong Sanjin main products are in IS machines, Anneling Lehrs, Feeders,other Glass Machinery equipment and has more than 60% share in China domestic market. It also has a building materials machinery business.Since the JV, Shandong Sanjin has embarked on upgrade and transformation, with focus on improved technology, equipment investment and quality. It has invested RMB400m in CNC machining centres, Co-ordinate Measuring Machines and other high end production equipment as well as a new painting line. These investments will enable the company to move to a higher level of competitiveness and quality in its manufacturing processes. In addition, the company will also invest in a new ERP system in order to improve its management level.In the area of R&D, the company worked with Emhart Glass and developed the first CIS machine in China, in order to meet higher domestic customer expectations as well as to penetrate the international market.
