Pharco Pharmaceuticals, the first of the Pharco Corporation Group, was launched in 1987 as the third private pharmaceutical company in Egypt with 100 employees and 25 million in sales. Today, Pharco employees 4000 employees and boasts 1 billion LE in sales. Before launching Pharco in 1987, Dr. Hassan Abass Helmy visited RP Scherer in Germany and began importing bulk products for Alexandria Co. where he was the Planning Manager as well as the Head of the Pharmaceutical Export Council at CID.


The eighties experienced hardships and blocks on imports from RP Scherer causing Pharco to initiate the production of soft gels; the specialty of RP Scherer. By 2003, Pharco Pharmaceuticals purchased RP Scherer Egypt and today the company is known as SafePharma.


Pharco initially entered the market with V2 PLUS multivitamins and FAWAR FRUIT. Today Pharco Corporation has over ______ branded pharmaceutical products in a variety of forms and dosages.
